Anne Stone  KAREN MINCHUK - OWNER/OPERATOR - HEAD INSTRUCTOR- Before starting Woodline in 2003, Karen had taught riding lessons and summer camps for several years.
Her first few riding experiences started in summer camps at the age of 8. Her interest grew and she started taking regular lessons and by the age of 12 had her own horse named "Bolero" to teach her about horsemanship and the joys of competing. Since then, Karen has shown on many different horses and competed at many levels in both the Hunter and Jumper disciplines. At the age of 14 She purchased a young thoroughbred named "Woodstock". Karen trained Woody from the ground up, eventually starting him in the baby green Hunters and continued up to the 1.20 meter Jumpers. Woody was eventually retired, and became the namesake of her business. He now enjoys his retirement at Woodline.
Coming from an intense dance background as a child, Karen compares the Hunters to ballet. She enjoys the attention to detail, turn out, position, and precision it takes. As well as a firm belief that a strong foundation is the cornerstone to becoming a competent rider.
In 2003 Karen took her first client horse to becoming baby green champion in the Alberta Hunter Horse Circuit.
Jumpers have always been a fascination with Karen as well. She enjoys the technical aspect and the thought process behind planning your track for the jump off. The hard work paid off in 2007 when two of her students worked their way up and won both Champion and Reserve Champion in the beginner Jumper Division.
2011 has been a fantastic year for Karen with the birth of her beautiful baby boy, Soren Andrew Lang, born on April 14, 2011 and with two of her students competing in the Spruce Meadows Harvest Classic. Karen's patience and practical approach to riding has helped her build a passion for horses into a successful riding school, where students are learning to become competent horsepeople and accomplished riders.
Along with teaching and coaching, She is also currently training and developing young horses, and aiding clients in the buying and selling of horses.

Anne Stone KRISTA MACPHERSON - INSTRUCTOR - I was introduced to riding by my mum Valerie at a very young age and I was immediately hooked.  I started showing at age 6 in various Pony Club events and quickly got a taste for competition.  Moving up through levels in Pony Club (I hold a RA Certificate from Pony Club) and competing very successfully in National Quizs, Rallies and Pony Club Championships, fostered a desire to compete in me.  This was the beginning of my open competitions career. My competition resume is extremely well rounded, having shown 30 plus horses to championships in various disciplines. Winning Equine Canada’s Junior Equestrian of the Year in 1995 was defiantly a highlight.  I have won numerous championships in Eventing to Preliminary, including six AHTA year end Championships.  In Dressage to Prix St George, including two National Championships, and seven Provincial championships.  And in Show Jumping to 1.3 meters, including Championships at Spruce Meadows, Edmonton Northlands, Thunderbird, Andersons and Rivervalley, as well as twelve AHHS Year End Championships.I have had the opportunity to ride with and learn from various industry greats including Lucinda Green (Eventing Olympic Gold Medalist), Kyle Carter (Eventing Olympic Team Member), Gina Smith (Dressage Olympic Team member), Michel Vaillancourt, Alan Brand, Dayton Gorsline, Karen Jarvie as well as others!  I have gained valuable multi disciplines knowledge from each and every one.I have had successes in showing both my own horses and horses for other owners, as well as coaching students to Championships in all three disciplines.  I bring a seasoned eye and expertise to picking and bringing along greener horses as well as developing our own “home grown” foals.  Introduced to breeding and foaling at Painted Trak Farms, I was provided with fundamental “hands on” experience that I am using today!  I have also taken NCCP levels I and II, EC Level I Coaching Certification and courses in Breeding and Collection and Insemination. Although my focus has changed somewhat with busy breeding and foaling schedules I still love to compete and will continue to do so.At this time I am standing two stallions, one Oldenburg and one Thoroughbred, and have a string of 20 broodmares.  I have extensive experience handling stallions, both my own and those of others, and am comfortable and confident with them.  I have been foaling out mares for over 10 years, and have the same years of experience with foals and handling of foals and broodmares.  Not only do we hand breed our own stallion, but we foal out, raise and break our own youngstock. I can offer good quality insight into numerous equestrian activities, and have a large bank of knowledge to draw from when questions arise, as well as a good list of contacts.

Anne Stone
ANNE STONE - INSTRUCTOR - Anne has been riding since she was 12 years old and that was a long time ago! Growing up in PEI, she was an active member of the Charlottetown Pony Club and was the first rider in PEI to achieve her 'B' level. She competed in the 3 Maritime provinces in the Hunter and Jumper division with her 3 horses and won numerous Zone Awards during her teenage years and into her 20's. A true horse lover, she spent the next 20 years building her work career in Toronto and taking care of her aging horses. Her first horse, Topper, died at 35 years of age. Anne now focuses her time on riding any and all horses that come her way with a focus on understanding horse psychology. She is passionate about teaching young students to ride and emphasizes horsemanhip vs. just learning to jump and show. When she is not thinking about riding and being around horses, she teaches business at Mount Royal College, Bow Valley College and runs her own entrepreneurial business from home.

BETHANY COWBROUGH - INSTRUCTOR - Bethany began riding at the age of eight and has been hooked ever since. At the age of 15, she began showing competitively in Ontario on the 'A' and 'B' circuit in the hunters, jumpers and equitation. Although never technically "owning" her own horse she has leased a children's hunter, on which she won year end champion and rode to be year end reserve 'A' equitation champion, a seasoned jumper, and large pony. Bethany has also had the great opportunity to ride numerous other horses both in and out of the show ring, making her a very versatile rider. During university, Bethany was determined to continue riding and became an active member of the University of Western Ontario Equestrian team. With the equestrian team, she was able to travel through out Ontario and Michigan competing on both the Ontario University Equestrian Association circuit and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association circuit. As a groom during most summers, Bethany is a stickler for turn out and expects that of her students. With the motto " the fast way of learning is the slow way" she focuses her students learning on mastering the basic elements of position, as she feels, is the foundation of great riding.
